Sample Trails/Rides

The Marshall Pass trail is on the continental divide southwest of Salida. Several important motorized trails pass through the Marshall Pass area. The Crest Trail, a segment of the Continental Divide Trail, runs north to Monarch Pass. The Summit Trail, another segment of the Continental Divide Trail, runs south and west all the way to North Pass and Buffalo Pass CG on SH 114. FR200/243, passable by automobiles, goes over the pass coming from the Shirley Site to the east, and going west to the town of Sargents, on US 50.

Sargents Loop. This loop starts and ends at Sargents. The long version goes west to Barret Park, then swings back east on Razor Creek. It then follows the Continental Divide Trail across Sargents Mesa and Cameron Park to Marshall Pass., and eventually goes down Agate Creek and back to Highway 50/Sargents. The long version of the loop is definitely for intermediate riders or better because of the length and a few technical sections. Novice riders could ride a shorter version if they had help in a few spots. Beginning riders should avoid most of the trails on this loop.
